What A Beautiful Time of Year!!!

I’m not just talking about if you have snow for a ‘White Christmas’ or if you live in a sunny climate.

I’m talking about this time of the year that brings out the best in us.  It brings out the true spirit of man, which is giving.  Everywhere you go, you hear Christmas carols, there are school choirs singing in the mall, children looking at what they want with a look of excited anticipation on their faces, eagerly looking forward to Christmas day.  People are smiling more; while standing in the LONG lines, conversation is struck up with someone standing in the same line, people are friendlier, it’s like a magical transformation is taking place in our lives and in the lives of those we meet.

We hear all the time of the complaints that Christmas is too commercialized and we are forgetting the true meaning of Christmas.  I would like to submit to you, that Christmas is what you make it.  You can change a negative mindset and let Christmas become a magical time of year for you, and you know what?  It will.  Or you can get caught up in going through the motions and not enjoying this time of year.  I think it’s good for us to reflect on what is REALLY important to us.

I have a friend whose 25 year old son was run over by a one ton Dodge truck.  This was an intentional act of violence and they didn’t know if their son would live or die.  The tire of the truck ran over the side of his head, (the cops and paramedics couldn’t believe his head wasn’t crushed), he had 8 broken ribs, punctured lung, ruptured spleen, broken pelvis, broken hip, broken knee, part of his ear was ripped off and various contusions and bruises all over his body.  He was in the hospital for 30 days and after much prayer and the Grace of God, he was finally released to go home.  He went to stay at his parent’s home because he required 24 hour care.  Both of his parents had been laid off from work and things were tight, but you know what?  That year was the BEST CHRISTMAS they ever had because their son was ALIVE and home with them!!!

I ask you, what’s REALLY important to you?

I encourage you to think about that and make this the best time of year ever!  Get caught up in the magic!  Give more of yourself with a positive attitude!  Motivational speaker and bestselling author, Harvey Mackay says it this way “Positive thinking is more than just a tagline.  It changes the way we behave.  And I firmly believe that when I am positive, it not only makes me better, but it also makes those around me better.”

Choose to be positive and watch the difference it makes in your life!  The world is yours and its opportunities are at your fingertips!  I’d like to reiterate some of what I said in last week’s Newsletter, you’re already taking the first step by aligning yourself with people like us.  We are big thinkers and we ACT on our plans and take the steps needed to “fail forward fast” so that we can learn and adapt quickly in order to achieve GREAT things!!
